1. Complete the entire handout that contains the
doublespeak exercise [both sides].
2. Complete the extra point letter.
3. Complete pages 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 [including slang]
in the Effective Writing handout.
4. Be sure to read textbook pages 223-229, "Editing for
Conciseness." Type 7 on textbook page 225.
5. Remember that your extra point letter is due NO LATER
THAN the BEGINNING of class [no exceptions].
